ABSTAM[P] FONT

project 02 // typography

ABSTAM[P] is a typeface inspired by the high-level FBI investigation into public corruption and organized crime, infamously code-named ABSCAM.

The idea to the font was born while reading the numerous letters US citizens sent to the FBI after the outcome of the Abscam investigation was published.

In contrast to these emotional letters, stand the bureaucratic stamps that secretaries put on them in order to archive them in hanging files and stow them away in an endless labyrinth of documents and closed cases for them to never be seen again.
ABSTAMP IS
YOUR FONT FOR
FAKE STAMPS AND
A USED LOOK YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS.

I wanted to create a font, that makes it possible to write with stamp style letters, and to easily create stamps for any cause. The font is available in regular, less ink, chaos and mono.

As an extra, there are Stamp frame elements included in the package, that can be used to complete the look.

It is presented in a hanging files style bundle. It includes a booklet about the creation process of the abstamp font and information about the abscam investigation, a folding flyer with application samples and a characterization of each fontstyle, and an introduction to the extra elements.
